Comparison / Contrst Paragraph: Block method

LIVING IN A BIG CITY OR IN A SMALL TOWN

There are many big differences between living in a big city or living in a small town. I live in a town with about 8000 inhabitants. It is not the best place of the world but it has its advantages. It's easy to go places by foot because all places are more or less close. The movements in a town don't produce much noise, so you can relax calmly. Likewise, everyone knows almost everybody because there isn't a huge population. On the other hand, living in a big city is also a good option. However, you would use more frequently public transportation because, unlike living in a village, places are not so close. This way you would know new people! There is a lot of noise in a city due to all traffic that congestionates streets and roads. In contrast, you wouldn't relax as much as in a town, unless you live on the eight floor of a large building! As cities are bigger than towns, it's really difficult to know everybody; which means you will always be on time to make new friends! Athough cities and villages have all posibilities to live there, both are very different experiences.

Giving my opinion!

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

Orange is the New Black is an American comedy-drama series created by Jenji Kohan. The series is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir, Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison, about her experience in prison.

The series revolves around Piper Chapman, a bisexual woman living in New York. She is sentenced to 15 months in a women’s federal prison for transporting a suitcase full of drug money to her girlfriend, Alex, who is an international drug smuggler. The offense occurred ten years before the start of the series, and in that time Piper had moved on to a quiet life among New York's upper middle class. In prison, Piper is reunited with Alex and they re-examine their relationship and deal with their fellow inmates.

I have seen two seasons of Orange is the New Black and I am waiting for the third. I really like this TV series. In my opinion, it’s good that people create this type of series because we can become aware of how prisons can be, and the same occurs with people living there. Each person is a world with its own problems and I think that this series reflects that. Although we are different races, colors and thoughts, we are people and therefore, we should treat everyone equally.

In addition, it’s a fantastic series. You can feel thousands different emotions in each minute. I love its spontaneity, its plot… Both seasons are perfect. It is really interesting and entertaining but, above all, it makes you empathize with each character. I couldn’t say anything bad about it because everything seems perfect to me. I just can recommend you to watch it, I promise you’d like!

Describing people

I have got just one  sister, her name is Pilar and she is older than me. She has short dark hair with big brown eyes. About her personality, she is too nice to people but sometimes she gets really nervous too soon. When we were younger, we passed all the time quarrelled but now it is different: we talk more about our personal problems, we share our hobbies and we usually go out together. At this moment, we do not see each one very much but, in spite of that,  we still talking and laughing everyday.

Describing a place

Have you ever been in Salamanca? I went eight months ago for some days and I love it!

Salamanca is a big city located in the west central part of Spain and it counts with almost 150 000 inhabitants. If you visit the city someday, you shouldn’t miss its large, beautiful, ancient and peaceful square. It is called Plaza Mayor and I felt amazed and surprised when I saw it. The huge square is also a touristic and a bit expensive area. It offers many stores and coffee shops and there the town hall takes place. Around it there are medallions made of stone with the faces of all historical characters related with Spain’s History. The best of the place is the people and the comfortable atmosphere, so I recommend you to go! You would like it!

Writing a paragraph

One of the most interesting ways of learning a language is travelling abroad. For exmaple, I went to Épinal, a French town, two years ago. My classmates and I stayed there for ten days living eac one with a native family. At first, I felt nervous because I am not an expert and I didn't know anyone. It is too difficult, but in the end, you learn a lot because you have no option, you have to speak and communicate with the rest. It was one of the most beautiful experiences and, as I thought it would be, I arrived home with much knowledge of the language and the way of living there.

Welcome to my blog!

I'm writing for the first time and not the last, I hope! I have never written a personal blog, so I don't control very much this area of social networks... But let's go!

I'm Lucía González and I'm eighteen years old. I'm from Tobarra (Albacete), a little town with no more than 8000 inhabitants. Tobarra is popular because of its Easter Week and its drums. The distinctive feature of Tobarra is its 104 uninterrupted hours playing drums. No town plays the drum for so many non-stop hours. That's the most important about Tobarra. I hope you to come one day and enjoy as much as possible!

Talking about me, I'm an average person with a casual look and I like wearing my way. I'm not fashionist or stylish. When it comes to my personality I'm nice, affectionate, a bit sensitive, responsible with my tasks and quite kind to my friends.
My hobbies are going out, reeding, meeting my friends and watching films or TV series. I also love listening to music because, in my opinion, it's a reflection of personality. My favourite bands are Arctik Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs.

That's all of me! I hope you to visit more frequently my blog!
